POLITICAL & DOCUMENTARY PROJECTS

2021-2024

From 2021 to 2024 I worked as an illustrator for Memorial, the historical and human-rights organisation forcibly shut down by the Russian state and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022.

My work included courtroom drawings, portraits of political prisoners, and the series Возвращение имён / The Return of the Names, which restores identity to the victims of state terror.

This politically engaged work continued in exile: through publications in anti-war media, including ROAR, participation in anti-war exhibitions, and projects dedicated to political prisoners and human rights.

In 2024, my large-format street exhibition Putinova klec, about political prisoners in Russia, was shown with GULAG.cz in Prague and continues to travel to different cities across the Czech Republic.

For Amnesty International, I created special postcards for political prisoners.

My graphic novel Rose + Robert. Liebe in Zeiten der Kriege, published in 2025 in Germany, also belongs to this political body of work.

In 2025, my anti-war graphic works appeared in Artistes en résistance, a French anti-war anthology published by Éditions Arléve in Paris, alongside an interview about drawing as a way of staying present and continuing to speak.

Drawing, for me, is a way of remembering and of refusing silence.
